Old Blooms, New Eyes — Jan van Huysum

Old Blooms, New Eyes: A Cirro Reimagining
In the early 1700s, Dutch painter Jan van Huysum became known for his impossibly detailed floral still lifes — lush, layered compositions filled with fruit, petals, and life. This particular piece, Still Life: Flowers and Fruit, is one of his finest, and now sits in the public domain, available through The Met.
At Cirro, we’ve taken that image and turned it on its head — gently. Our Stolen Flower print is a postmodern remix: digitally restored, then reworked with a burst of colour, like a vandal with a spray can and a soft spot for symmetry.
The bold overlays — our version of “graffiti” — aren’t random. They’re carefully placed, playfully disruptive. It’s part homage, part rebellion. A way of bringing Old Master work into the now, while giving it a second life in your living room.
No AI was used in the making of this print. Just human hands, eyes, and a few very solid circles.
